Waterfowl Rookies
In Ohio, hunting waterfowl requires a state hunting license, a migratory bird permit, and a Federal Duck Stamp. Hunters must also complete a Hunter Education course, which covers safe hunting practices, firearm handling, and conservation. Additionally, all hunters must comply with Ohio’s bag limits, which specify the number and species of waterfowl that can be harvested each day. Hunters must also follow regulations regarding the use of non-toxic shot and hunting hours, which vary throughout the season.
Finally, hunters must have a valid Ohio Wetland Habitat Stamp if hunting in designated state-owned wetlands. It is important for hunters to stay up-to-date on current regulations to ensure a safe and legal hunting experience.
